Highgrove Pool and Leisure Centre

Commercial Window Replacement

& Entrance Lobby

INTRODUCTION

TF Energy successfully delivered a comprehensive window replacement project for the London Borough of Hillingdon Council at Highgrove Pool and Leisure Centre. This £500,000 initiative, funded through the Community Energy Programme, addressed significant thermal efficiency issues by replacing outdated single glazed aluminium windows with modern Comar3 and Comar9 pi eco coated aluminium double-glazed windows. The project, completed on 18th July 2024, also included the installation of a new draft lobby with electric sliding doors at the centre's entrance, all while maintaining full operations of the facility's pools and gym.

Project Challenges

Problem

Outdated single glazed aluminium windows causing significant heat

loss and condensation throughout the building, reducing comfort and increasing energy costs.

Solution

Installation of Comar3 and Comar9 pi eco coated aluminium double-glazed

windows with trickle vents for controlled ventilation, plus a new draft lobby

with electric sliding doors.

Outcome

Significantly improved thermal efficiency,

reduced heat loss, and enhanced comfort for staff and leisure centre

members, backed by a 10- Year Manufacturer Guarantee.

Technical Solution & Benefits

Window Replacement Specifications

The project involved replacing all single glazed windows with Comar3 and Comar9 pi eco windows - high-performance coated aluminium double-glazed units.

These windows were specifically selected for their superior thermal properties and durability in high-humidity environments like swimming pools.

Entrance Lobby Enhancement

TF Energy designed, built and installed a completely new draft lobby featuring custom window sections and electric sliding doors. This addition significantly reduced drafts

from the entrance area, contributing to the overall improvement in the building's thermal envelope.

The installation was completed smoothly, with all works delivered on time and in accordance with the agreed programme. The client now benefits from a more efficient, comfortable, and sustainable leisure facility that will serve the community for years to come while reducing operational costs and environmental impact.
